Painting fur, feathers and cloth that read as real
All three surfaces rely on direction and layering. For fur, build a dark base, add mid-tone strands following the body's flow, then flick lighter hairs on top — always in the direction the coat grows. For feathers, work from the base of each feather outward, overlapping rows like roof tiles so the plumage layers naturally.
